Description
The 2026 Sovereign bullion coin range marks the return of the classic yellow gold alloy, replacing the rose-toned finish seen on recent issues. Struck in 22-carat gold, the coin commemorates 500 years since the coinage reforms of Henry VIII’s reign, which first established the standard alloy used for The Sovereign.
Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic depiction of St George slaying the dragon once again features on the reverse, which is enhanced with micro-text for additional security. The obverse also incorporates advanced security features, including a new secure pattern and a latent image positioned just beneath the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III.
